I had the privilege to work closely with Baneen for two years as her mentor and manager, and I was continuously impressed by her well-rounded hard and soft skills as a UX designer. I was the Head of Growth at Altery when Baneen joined as a Product Designer on our team. My first impression of her was one of genuine positivity and enthusiasm; she truly elevates the mood of every meeting.

Baneen jumped in when we were navigating some very interesting times at Alteryx integrating products from multiple acquisitions into Alteryx's first and extremely ambitious foray into the cloud to integrate and launch a full suite of cloud data engineering solutions from ML to prescriptive insights to data preparation as the unified "Alteryx Analytics Cloud" with a highly accelerated timeline of a few months. To say it was a stressful time would have been a massive understatement. Her diligent work on the new user experience design of the early stages of platform was absolutely critical to our success and allowed for an incredibly successful initial GTM strategy that generated significant sales traction and critical user feedback that we could iterate from.

Perhaps most impressive was her work as lead designer for an integration with Snowflake Partner Connect shortly thereafter. Lesser designers might have crumbled under the pressure and constantly changing requirements from executives during this transitional phase of the company, but she thrived. Her designs evolved with each new challenge, ultimately delivering an experience that exceeded expectations. Her flexibility and resilience during this project were truly inspiring. Baneen has meticulous attention to detail, brilliant strategic vision paired with an empathetic approach, and brings a remarkable passion and joy everyday.

Software Engineer - Alteryx

As a software engineer, I had the chance to collaborate with her on a few projects, bringing her intuitive and elegant UX designs to life. During our AAC trials project, Baneen created the design for the Contact Sales MFE. This feature significantly improved user experience by adapting seamless communication with the sales team, especially crucial for extending trial periods or managing expired trials. Additionally, Baneen designed email templates for partner connect registrations, which proved so effective that they were adopted for other email communications as well. She navigated shifting requirements during Snowflake Partner Connect project, demonstrating her flexibility and commitment. Her ability to swiftly adapt to changing priorities was very valuable and greatly appreciated.

Baneen is an excellent collaborator and a clear communicator. Her designs are always well-thought out, leaving no room for ambiguity on the developer’s end. I always appreciated how clear she is in presenting and articulating project details, and considering multiple scenarios a user might use the product. With her work she demonstrates empathy for both users and engineers who collaborate with her. I can say with no hesitation that you are lucky to have her on your team!
